Maxxima Chosen as Preferred Supplier to North West England

Public Sector recruitment specialists Maxxima have been awarded a major new contract to supply temporary Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Health Science Services (HSS) staff to the NHS throughout North West England.



The contract commenced on 1st September 2009 and initially runs until 31st August 2010 giving NHS

departments throughout the region far greater control over their temporary staffing expenditure across the 27 different professions covered.



There are 69 different hospitals and Primary Care Trusts within the North West England NHS Region, serving a population of over 7 million people and covering cities such as Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, Lancaster, Blackpool and Wigan. The organisations included within this contract are:

The contract is the result of a lengthy procurement exercise carried out by the North West Collaborative Commercial Agency (NWCCA) and will operate under the terms of the current NHS PaSA/Buying

Solutions National Framework Agreement. The appointment of preferred suppliers to NHS departments throughout the region streamlines the temporary staffing process across a host of professions, including:

    * Physiotherapy

    * Radiography

    * Sonography

    * Speech & Language Therapy

    * Podiatry

    * Dietetics

    * Biomedical Science

    * Pharmacy

    * Cardiac Physiology

    * Audiology

    * Anatomical Patholgy



By contracting Maxxima, the NHS has access to discounted rates and greater peace of mind that necessary health and background checks have been conducted prior to the locum’s placement.
